Winter Session of Musical Theatre Dance 1 and 2 Musical Theatre Dance 1 (Grades 2-5) Time: Thursdays 6-7pm March 1st-May 10th This is a fun, exciting class that is perfect for actors who want to get more dance experience and dancers who are interested in musical theatre. The class will begin with a jazz style warm up and students will learn choreography from several different musicals as well as practice acting and expression while dancing. An informal showing will take place on the last day of class. No previous dance experience required. *There is an opportunity for a final performance for this class on Saturday May 19th as part of the Encore Theatre Cabaret/Applause Awards Night. Mandatory Dress Rehearsal on Friday May 18th. More details to follow.
Musical Theatre Dance 2 (Grades 6 and up) Time: Thursdays 7-8:15pm March 1st-May 10th This class is geared towards dancers and actors who have an interest in dance in the theatre setting. Students will master technique often used in musical theatre as well as practice acting and expression while dancing. A jazz style warm up will start the class and each week will feature choreography from fun shows! An informal showing will take place on the last day of class. Some dance experience suggested. *There is an opportunity for a final performance for this class on Saturday May 19th as part of the Encore Theatre Cabaret/Applause Awards Night.
